Dawn creates its own music with a vintage sound, inspired by great british bands. Between 2005 and 2008, Dawn played several live performances: opening band for Kansas and Fish, "Montreux Prog Nights", Progsol & Prog'Sud festivals.

For those that remember the Look and Read series in the early eighties (which had such programmes as 'Dark Towers'), in my opinion this music evokes those feelings of mystery and wonder. Very, very impressed.

Ukrainian musician/composer/producer Antony Kalugin is amazingly prolific. Amongs all his other projects this was already the 13th Karfagen album (released in early 2022). Of course, a new one is ready to see the light of day in early 2023 ;-) This album is (as all his stuff) clearly 70s oriented, "golden-era prog", extremely rich in melodies and arrangement ideas. Some jazzy, folky, classical influences included and very well sounding, too :-) Almost disappeared in the deep wishlist 8-o

I received this as a surprise present by the band for pre-ordering the upcoming album, so thanks a lot to you, too :-)) As could be expected by Pat Sanders & Co, highly melodic prog that should, for instance, appeal too friends of Fish-era Marillion (although Uncle Fish would never have reached those high notes ;-) ) and some instrumentals (from beautiful miniatures like Bubbles to the more epic Last Supper). Among many other fine things offered here, I especially love Pat's piano playing!

The remarkable visionary scope of Antony Kalugin and his uncanny ability to express it via his prodigious musical talents is truly ingenious. He is a maestro of stirring melodies. I highly recommend this album & listening to it when your full attention can truly savour it. Thank you very much, Antony, for your generous invite to celebrate the album with you! I especially enjoy the first three songs. 8.5+/10.
